2002 TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS CALENDER OF EVENTS:

Tuesday, October 8 Contestant Practice : TOC R/C Field - 8 a.m. till
completion.

Wednesday, October 9 Qualifying Rounds: Unknown Program #1, Known Program
and Four-Minute Free Program - TOC R/C Field - 8 a.m. till completion.

Thursday, October 10 Qualifying Rounds: Unknown Program #2, Known Program
and Four-Minute Free Program - TOC R/C Field - 8 a.m. till completion.

Friday, October 11 Qualifying Rounds: Unknown Program #3, Known Program
and Four-Minute Free Program - TOC R/C Field - 8 a.m. till completion.

Saturday, October 12 Semi-Final Rounds : TOC R/C Finals - 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
· Round 1 - Unknown Program #4 and Four Minute Free Program
· Round 2 - Unknown Program #5 and Four Minute Free Program

Sunday, October 13 Final Round : TOC R/C Finals - 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
· Round 1 - Unknown Program #6 and Four Minute Free Program
· Round 2 - Unknown Program #7 and Four Minute Free Program

 

*  Site of competition is TOC R/C Field. Tournament headquarters is the
Sahara Hotel and Casino.

* Food and beverages will be available at the competition site throughout
the tournament.

* Shirts, hats, pins, key chains and other souvenirs will be sold at the
flying field.

* Bleacher seating and sanitary facilities will be provided during the
competition.

* Free bus transportation will be provided between the Sahara and the
flying field on a half hour schedule, October 11-13, 2002.

* Car rental service will be available through Dollar Rent A Car, located
in the Sahara hotel lobby.

ALL ABOUT THE 2002 TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS

 

The 2002 18th International Tournament of Champions, the most prestigiousevent in the sport of Radio Control competition with a total purse of $183,500 will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada, October 9-13, 2002.

 

ABOUT THE CONTEST:

Twenty-one of the most talented radio control aerobatic aircraft pilots from
the USA, New Zealand, Australia, Germany, France, Liechtenstein, Argentina,
Brazil, and Italy are invited to compete in five days of aerobatic
competition with $50,000 going to the champion. The contest is by invitation
only. Each day, flying will begin at approximately 8:00 a.m.

LOCATION:

The contest takes place at the Las Vegas Radio Control flying field located
on the north side of the Silver Bowl Stadium at Boulder Highway and
Tropicana Avenue. To get to the site, take Interstate 15 north, exit US
93/95 south (toward Phoenix, Arizona) then exit Tropicana Avenue east, and
follow signs across Boulder Highway to the flying field. Admission and
parking are free. FREE SHUTTLE TRANSPORTATION IS AVAILABLE FROM THE SAHARA
OCTOBER 11-13, 2002.

ACCOMMODATIONS:

Rooms are available at the Sahara Hotel and Casino at special rates of $51
Sunday through Thursday and $71 on Friday and Saturday. When making your
room reservation, call 1-888-696-2121 or (702) 737-2654 and inform the agent
that you are a TOC spectator. Make note, a first night's deposit plus
appropriate room tax and $3 per night energy surcharge is required at least
14 days after booking or your reservation is subject to cancellation.

SOUVENIR ITEMS:

Official TOC jackets, shirts, caps, key chains, etc. will be on sale at the
flying field during competition. Food and beverage will also be available
at the site.
